One of the fun parts of moving into a new apartment is having the freedom to decorate it and turn it into a home. Since moving to Melbourne, I haven’t yet done much interior styling besides matching the sofa to the carpet; and the sofa conveniently came with accent cushions, which makes the living room a lot more pulled together than I had planned! However, our white walls are still starkly bare – I had bought my fiancé a few pieces of AFL memorabilia but they’re still languishing at his mum’s place. So when The Canvas Factory offered me the opportunity to create my own piece of wall art, I couldn’t wait to give it a go!
The ordering process is easy – the hardest part is deciding what you want! The first decision to make is which material you want, followed by the style of wall art. Do you want just one photo? A collage of photos? There are even themed prints available, for your wedding or holiday snaps!
Next, let your creative juices flow! Upload your photo/s and adjust them to fit into your print or collage. I went with a 30x45cm canvas photo collage and had way too many photos to choose from! The Canvas Factory recommends that photos should have a resolution of at least 150dpi for best results – we don’t want blurry photos on your beautiful walls! Arranging the photos in your collage is as simple as dragging the shot you want into your desired space. Adjustments are made by playing with the rotate or zoom panels under the collage.
Once you’re happy with your photos and positioning, click to continue and you have the option to cover the sides of the canvas print with coloured wrap so that it matches your photo; or to add effects such as sepia, black and white or colour tone. I went without a wrap (with the collage, I think the default plain white of the canvas works best) and no extra effects. Before you enter in your payment details, you are able to review your collage and apply any discounts – at the time of writing, The Canvas Factory is offering 70% off storewide! That’s right, 70%! Bargain!
Something I didn’t realise was that The Canvas Factory is a Google Trusted Store, which means that Google offers purchase protection and assistance if required – definitely offers peace of mind if you’re worried about buying online!
Enter in your delivery and payment details, submit your order and you’re done! A confirmation email will arrive within a matter of seconds and within a few days, you should receive an email with shipping information. Production and delivery is super fast – I received my canvas collage within 10 days, which included a weekend and a public holiday.
The canvas came very well packaged, lots of bubble wrap for protection and cardboard corners. And once all of that comes off, you’re left with this awesome canvas collage!
Overall, the process of creating and ordering a canvas print from The Canvas Factory was super easy, and actually quite fun! My fiancé and I really enjoyed going through old photos and reminiscing over past holidays while we chose which shots we would include in the collage. The fast shipping means that you can have a freshly printed piece of wall art hanging up within a couple of weeks and the great sale that’s on right now means that you don’t have to spend much to have a gorgeous personalised canvas. I’d definitely recommend using The Canvas Factory if you’re looking for a great present or just something to brighten up your house!
