Ice cream for breakfast? Why not, when it comes on top of a waffle and looking as impressive as this?
Brunch is probably my favourite meal of the day, mainly because you can order anything you want – sweet, savoury or anything in between! One of the first places we actually tried in South Yarra was CNF Café and we’ve been back a couple of times since. I’ve ordered the same thing every time, despite the variety in the menu, but it has basically everything I want in a brunch dish!
So I have clearly been very absent from my blog for a good few months, mainly due to one big change in my life – I’ve moved to Melbourne! Yes, the city of quirky bars, curious laneways and of course, fabulous food, which means plenty of places to try and review. However, for my return post, I’ll be bringing you some insanely stunning milkshakes from a café I visited when I was on a trip back to Sydney.
I was rather surprised when I read all the negative reviews of C1 Cafe, which is located in prime position on the ground floor of the Chatswood Chase shopping centre. We may have just been lucky, visiting late on a Monday morning for an early lunch when the cafe was quite empty. I wouldn’t say the service was outstanding, as we did have to regularly request more drinking water but the waitstaff were friendly enough and our food came out quite quickly. As I have frequently mentioned, I love anything garlic prawns, so I was immediately drawn to the prawn linguine with garlic and chilli.
